Details: Singer Manufacturing Company VINTAGE SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT 221-1 SEWING MACHINE Original Carrying Case Instruction Manuel & Attachments Spare Parts Home Mending

This lot consists of a vintage singer featherweight sewing machine (model 221-1). This lot also features original carrying case, oil can, thimble, thread and spool, instruction booklet and foot petal.

The machine reads:
"Sewing Machine/ Catalogue 3-110/ 100-110 Volts/ 25 to 75 Cycles and D.C./ 0.4 Ampere/ Simanco U.S.A."

The case for the machine measures 13" x 8" x 11.75".

Singer Corporation is an American manufacturer of sewing machines, first established as I. M. Singer & Co. in 1851 by Isaac Merritt Singer with New York lawyer Edward Clark. Best known for its sewing machines, it was renamed Singer Manufacturing Company in 1865, then The Singer Company in 1963. It is based in La Vergne, Tennessee, near Nashville. Condition / Notes: This lot shows mild to moderate signs of age/wear with a lacking clasp to the original carrying case. The machine shows well with various extras showing light signs of age/wear. The machine has not been tested.

Details: Paul Klee DER GOLDEN FISCH Deitz Offizin Vintage Reproduction Limited Edition Oil Water Color Painting German Expressionist Bauhaus Aquatic Surrealist

Paul Klee, a Swiss-born painter, printmaker and draughtsman of German nationality, was originally associated with the German Expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter, and subsequently taught at the Bauhaus, the widely influential German art school of the interwar period. Klee's diverse body of work cannot, however, be categorized according to any single artistic movement, or "school." His paintings, which are at times fantastic, childlike, or otherwise witty, served as an inspiration to the New York School, as well as many other artists of the 20th century.

This vintage Deitz Offizin limited edition reproduction is of Paul Klee's Der Goldfisch, which is curently in the permanent collection of The Hamburger Kunsthalle. The work is paint on board and is numbered 27 of 300. The painting depicts a large vibrant gold yellow fish in the center surrounded by smaller red fish and blue plants. The background is a dark blue and both the smaller fish and plants are rendered in a pictographic or child like fashion, which offset the frenetic mesmerizing style of the goldfish creating a wonderful visual balance.The painting measures approximately 27.75" x 19.75"

Condition / Notes: The piece has some slight rubbing and scratches on the edges and shows discoloration consistent with its age.

Details: American Presidential History PRESIDENT RICHARD NIXON SIGNED LETTER April 21 1971 Vietnam War Oval Office Address White House Stationery Autograph

This letter is signed by President Richard Nixon during his presidency. The text thanks a supporter for their "particularly encouraging" letter about an address Nixon gave from the Oval Office on April 7, 1971.

The letter is dated April 21, 1971 and addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Spetrino. The piece is on white house stationery and has been carefully well preserved in its original envelope.

The letter is on a piece of stationery measuring approximately 6.75" x 8.75".

The items in this consignment come to us from the estate of a noted U.S. government official who began his career as a Navy captain in the 1970s and rose to high-ranking positions in the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the Department of State. Over the course of more than fifty years of service, this official traveled to hundreds of different nations to promote the interests of the United States abroad. Many of the items in this auction were obtained during those journeys and were either presented to the official by foreign dignitaries and military leaders or otherwise acquired as souvenirs and gifts.

Details: Sterling Films A CIRCUS WAKES UP HERE COMES THE CIRCUS WHEN THE CIRCUS CAME TO TOWN 16mm Black & White Film c1940 Documentary

This vintage film reel contains three short documentaries made by Argos Films Inc and Sterling films depicting the life of circus performers and animals. The reel contains approximately 800 feet of footage with a run time of 22 min and comes in a metal can.


Condition / Notes: The film itself looks to be in good shape and has probably seen little time in a projector showing only some light scratches consistent with it's age.The can also has some small scratches and rub marks on the back, but has no dents on the rim and closes both easily and securely.

This antique Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey lithograph sign originally created by Lawson Wood dates to 1943 and has a cardboard flap on its backside allowing it to stand on its own.

Details: Typesetting Letterpress Drawers VINTAGE TYPE CABINET WITH STEEL FRAME & REMOVABLE SEGMENTED TRAYS Hamilton Drawers Type Pieces Fonts Italic Gothic

This vintage type cabinet with a steel frame includes eighteen removable segmented drawers, four of which feature more than 100 pieces of type. The cabinet has space for twenty-four drawers in total. The drawers appear to be from a variety of producers, and several are marked "Hamilton." The frame measures approximately 34.25" x 43" and holds drawers measuring approximately 32.25" x 16.75".

Three of the four drawers containing different fonts are labeled: "Gothic Outline Title No. 61"; "8 Italic"; and "14 Stymie."

This antique work is Plate 9 from Part II of "Recollections of India Drawn on Stone by J.D. Harding from the Original Drawings by the Honourable Charles Stewart Hardinge." The title, "Shupeyan Fort," is handwritten in the lower left margin.

The image measures approximately 14.75" x 10.25" on backing that measures approximately 21.75" x 17.75".

"In 1846, before meeting his father in Simla, Charles Hardinge spent 'a brief but delightful interval of repose in the far-famed region of romance and poetry - the Valley of Kashmir.' This fort was situated near the opening of the Pir Panjal Pass into the valley on the road to the city of Kashmir and was where Maharaja Ranjit Singh gained possession of the Valley from the Afghans in 1819." Maker: A. Schneider Sohne

History of Maker: Anton Schneider first produced cuckoo clocks in the Black Forest region of Germany in 1848. The company that bears his name has been producing quality cuckoo clocks from a factory in Schonach, Germany, since 1952 and through 6 generations. A. Schneider Sohne continues to create intricately hand carved cuckoo clocks today. Regula is one of only two companies that continue to produce cuckoo clock movements in the Black Forest region of Germany. The company can trace its legacy back to the mid-19th century.

Model History & Features: This vintage cuckoo clock comes with its original instruction manual and is notable for its intricate mechanics. When functioning properly, a chimney sweep will emerge from the top of the case as the cuckoo calls the hour, a waterwheel turns, the farmer swings his ax, and a music box plays.

Running?: Untested

Condition: This clock is composed of 100% original parts and includes weights and a pendulum. The music box gear does not function and needs to be replaced. Otherwise this clock shows nicely and is in very good condition though some servicing is recommended to ensure it functions properly.

This vintage Tabriz Mahi runner measures approximately 2'9" x 12'11". The rug is adorned with an intricate woven pattern. Traditionally produced in the city of Tabriz in northwestern Iran, these rugs are instantly recognizable for their incredible detail and fine texture.

Condition / Notes: This runner has come to us directly from a professional cleaner and is likely an authentic Iranian rug. Reinforcing stitches have been added to the edges of the back of the rug to help ensure it remains solid and intact for years to come.

Details: This lot consists of a framed original c1904 Maxfield Parrish print entitled “Dinky Bird”. The colors remain vibrant with the frame echoing the coloration of the print.

“Maxfield Parrish (July 25, 1870 – March 30, 1966) was an American painter and illustrator known for his distinctive saturated hues and idealized neo-classical imagery. Parrish had an artistic career that lasted for more than half a century, helping to shape the Golden Age of illustration and American visual arts. This antique work is Plate 4 from Part II of "Recollections of India Drawn on Stone by J.D. Harding from the Original Drawings by the Honourable Charles Stewart Hardinge." The title, "Poormandal," is handwritten in the lower left margin.

"This [plate] represents Purmandal, popularly known as 'Chhota Kashi' which is located on the holy river Devika, and is considered as sacred as the Ganges. There are several temples here including that of Umapati and the adjoining Shiva temples. Hardinge described the town in the 19th Century as, 'The resort of pilgrims from all parts of the hills on the celebration of the 'Male', which is a religious festival, the streets are filled with Hillmen of every tribe and every description of Costume.'"[Courtesy British Library]
